What is this?
Hi, my name is Tom Lazar and I'm a Plone and Zope developer based in Berlin, Germany and this is my personal and professional (no big difference, really...) website.

Update (content)

No news is good news!

Of course, after every longer absence from blogging, the first entry gains some kind of strange significance: after all, it's "The Next Big Thing[tm]".

However, this just makes it seem harder to come up with a worthy entry, which in turn increases the likelihood of procrastination. A vicious circle, indeed. To break it, I will now offer a tiny little bit of insignificant trivia to get this blog flowing again ;-)

I'm writing this entry on the train, a Berlin U-Bahn, to be precise. Now, apart from ever increasing ticket prices, one recent issue with the BVG was the increase of ticket inspectors and their rudeness. In an effort to curb jayriding losses, the BVG had decided to crack the whip and increase staff. It seemed that the only people who would want to do that kind of job were people who had no other choice. Almost all of them were grumpy, rude and generally unpleasant. After lots of complaints, though, I must say, that things have changed for the better. They say 'please' and 'thank you' and 'Guten Tag' and make a real effort to be polite. As far as possible, it's almost a pleasant experience...

Now what I'd like to know is: are these the same people or have they been replaced?

From my knowledge there are new kontrollettis, now. The usual short haired, grimly looking ones have disappeared.
