What is this?
Hi, my name is Tom Lazar and I'm a Plone and Zope developer based in Berlin, Germany and this is my personal and professional (no big difference, really...) website.

Milestone

"I love it, when a plan comes together!"

Damn, that feels good! After two long nights of continuous hacking I have finally achieved what I have been trying to do for what must be months now! Okay, it's nothing big, but for me it's quite important. Here it goes, are you ready? Drumroll! I can now transform DocBook files on the fly in Zope to HTML.

Okay, everybody, calm down now... ;-) Seriously, though, this is an important milestone in switching the Datenschleuder site from its current dismal state over to plone: as of the coming issue we will be producing it in DocBook.

Now I will need to find a way of creating a new Plone Data Type (PloneXML or XMLDoc perhaps) to wrap around the ZopeXMLMethod: as of now, all you get is the 'naked' HTML result without any of the plone trimmings. You can see what I mean here (notice the last bit of the URL - the magic of acquisition at work!). The good news: caching works really well, I was a bit worried about the performance hit first.

Oh, well. I'm righteously tired now, enjoying a well-deserved night cap and tomorrow I'll write a recipe about it, before I'll forget entirely...
