Hi, my name is Tom Lazar and I'm a Plone and Zope developer based in Berlin, Germany and this is my personal and professional (no big difference, really...) website.
I guess, I won by, ahm, far. By the way, my fan starts at 49 degree. How about yours?
To forestall your question: Let Spotlight explode and it will cool down instantly.
What do you mean? You're two degrees below me ;-) What kind of machine is it, anyway? Unfortunately my Dual-1GHz-G4 doesn't seem to have any temperature sensors for the CPU (unlike your model) so I'm relying on the hard drive. But judging by your screenshot, that seems to be a pretty safe bet ;-)
We have the same machines but different processors. I saw yours the day you installed Tiger. Maybe, my G4 (867 MHz) Powerbook is some, very very few months olders.. :}
I use a small application to display the measured data: http://www.bresink.de/osx/TemperatureMonitor.html
My temparature reading came from my dual-1ghz-g4 desktop machine that's locked into a cupboard with a 10ft-ADC-extension cord because it's so bloody loud...
That solution worked fine in the winter, perhaps I'll have to relocate it come summer...
