What is this?
Hi, my name is Tom Lazar and I'm a Plone and Zope developer based in Berlin, Germany and this is my personal and professional (no big difference, really...) website.

Green Apples

I usually don't take part in 'online campaigns' let alone advocate participation, but I think this campaign from Greenpeace is absolutely worthy of everyones support. So, take a look and send an email to Steve!

Apple knows more about "clean" design than anybody, right? So why do Macs, iPods, iBooks and the rest of their product range contain hazardous substances that other companies have abandoned? A cutting edge company shouldn't be cutting lives short by exposing children in China and India to dangerous chemicals. That's why we Apple fans need to demand a new, cool product: a greener Apple.

Update: As usual, there's another side to the story. As limi points out in the comments (and as I've noticed at MacSlash at the same time), Greenpeace may no longer live up to their image of 'the good guys'. While I can't see anything wrong with petitioning any company to make more environmentaly friendly products it really does seem, that greenpeace isn't playing entirely fair. In essence: if you feel like signing the petition, you should probably first read this article (and also its comments).
