Zope and Leopard
Seeing that the first Plonistas are getting their copy of Leopard I'd like to give a quick 'heads up' from my first 24 hours with the new cat.
Executive summary: everything's hunky-dory, actually ;-)
- Mac ports just continues to work with Leopard. No need to update or even touch it.
- As do python 2.4.4, PIL, ipython etc.
-
As do
easy_install,ZopeSkelandbuildout - And Zope and Plone ;-)
One caveat, though. If you perform an upgrade (as opposed to a clean install) don't forget to also upgrade XCode. This upgrade is not covered by the normal Installer. Instead, navigate to the XCode installer on the Leopard DVD and install XCode manually from there (it will perform an upgrade, if you already have XCode installed).
If you don't do this, you won't be able to perform new installations of Zope, as the compilation of some of its bits written in C will fail.
Apart from that I haven't encountered a single hitch that would impede me as a Plone developer. Standard disclaimer applies, of course: "Your mileage may vary" etc. pp. ;-)
