What is this?
Hi, my name is Tom Lazar and I'm a Plone and Zope developer based in Berlin, Germany and this is my personal and professional (no big difference, really...) website.

Silence

Filed Under:

Somebody's been working the phone, alright...

tageschau.de has removed any reference to the story from it's front page, after it's been featured as 'story of the day' yesterday. The direct link to the article is still working, but there's no link to it from front page. So far, there is no other coverage at all in any other media, that I have heard of. If you find anything, please drop a comment, thanks!

Well, it's probably the best strategy for T-Com. Shutdown the servers (so nobody can verifiy the claims), throw around your (considerable) weight and hush it up. Rather have some embarressing talks with your clients than a fullgrown public humiliation.

Evasion is one thing, though. Flat out denial another. I'm curious (and anxious) to see whether there will be any form of retaliation from T-Com. I somehow doubt, though, that T-Com will receive any form of punishment other than loss of face in front of their clients. That's not enough! Not really much I can think of right now, that could be done about it. Let's see...

Nope. At first I was surprised, too. But if you look around, you'll find it in the right column, at the top, right below the search-field.

Now that is something I wholeheartedly agree with. I was expecting way more Reactions to this. And I am very surprised this hasn't yet made its way into international news, yet. How often do you find a company from the fortune500 that is selling security and at the same time is so careless about customer's data and their server-infrastructure.

I wouldn't be surprised, if Magzines are afraid to loose the millions of euro that Telekom spends in advertising every year, as has happened with ALDI and the Sueddeutsche Zeitung for example: http://www.fr-aktuell.de/fr_home/startseite/?cnt=471012

This will be very interesting to follow...
